TULLAHOMA, Tenn. (AP) _ Police say three Middle Tennessee teenagers died when their sport utility vehicle became stuck in mud which plugged the exhaust system.
Eighteen-year-old Josh Baker of Winchester, 17-year-old Kristie Burton of Lynchburg and 15-year-old Alyssa Rucker of Tullahoma were found dead in the vehicle Saturday night.

Phillip Jeter, journalism professor at MTSU, will be transferring to Winston Salem State University in North Carolina this fall to assume the position as the chair of the department of mass communication.

Uga VI, the English bulldog who has served as the Georgia mascot since 1999, has died from heart failure, the University announced Saturday.
The winningest mascot in the University history died on Friday evening from congestive heart failure in Savannah, owner Frank W. "Sonny" Seiler announced.
"He was a good one," Seiler said.

The Tennessee Board of Regents is looking at academic programs at The University of Memphis to see if any of them need to be cut because of low enrollment.
TBR officials are keeping an eye on 70 low-producing programs at its 45 state-wide institutions. The low enrollment programs under the three-year watch are up for final review before they may face elimination in 2009.
